Founder of Dharma Seal Monastery
Venerable
Bhikkhu Xin-xing established Dharma Seal Monastery on August 1, 2007.
In February, 2008, he set up Dharma Seal Monastery in 257 St. Andrews
Road, Walden, New York.
He
is a trained bi-lingual Buddhist minister, received his Bachelor Degree
in the English language and literature from Soochow University, Taiwan
Sept. 1979 to July 1983.
His
formal religious education was earned at theYuan-Kuang Buddhist
Institute, Taiwan August 1990 to July 1993, and he was ordained as a
Buddhist monk, a minister, in 1988.
He
has been a minister and religious teacher since 1993, teaching Buddhism
in the Buddhist Institute and various colleges and has performed
numerous religious services.
He
was invited to Chuang-Yen Monastery, in Putnam County, New York by the
Buddhist Association of United States and rendered his services there
from September 2002 to June 2003.
He
moved to Bodhi Monastery, located in Lafayette, N.J., as of September
2003 in June 2003. His duties included teaching Buddhism, performing
religious services, and conducting other religious activities as
required.
His goal of establishing Dharma Seal Monastery is:
to offer a harmonious environment for the local community,
to make the Buddha's message of happiness and peace accessible to the general public.
